Heat sweeps Hornets

Under the eyes of Dwyane Wade, to whom the franchise paid tribute for his induction into the Hall Of Fame, the Heat won 104-87 against the Hornets in their 4th and final confrontation of the season. Undefeated in its division, Miami quickly took cover thanks to fast play with Jaime Jaquez Jr. at the conclusion of the counter-attacks (17-8).

Despite some arabesques from LaMelo Ball and the power of Miles Bridges, Charlotte got bogged down in the Heat's defense. And as Tyler Herro hits the target from afar, the Heat escapes (26-16).

Bam Adebayo in demonstration

The rest is the same. Bam Adebayo's coverages prevent the Hornets from approaching the circle, and interceptions multiply. Duncan Robinson even offers himself a coast-to-coast, while Adebayo goes to shake the circle, to the point of taking a technique! The gap widens (38-22), and the shooters increase it to increase the gap to +23 (46-23). At the break, Charlotte only scored 31 points. This is the lowest total for a franchise this season.

Returning from the locker room, LaMelo Ball wakes up his teammates, facing a somewhat sleepy Heat. The former All-Star scored 14 points, including a few very long-range 3-pointers, in the 3rd quarter, and the Hornets returned to -12 (64-52). A simple reminder for the Heat who tightened their defense, and relied on the talent of Bam Adebayo to sign a 13-5 to regain a 20-point lead (77-57).

This time, Charlotte will not come back, and Adebayo can continue his domination, near the circle or at mid-distance, and the Heat win 104-87. This is the Hornets' 16th loss in 17 games.

What you must remember

– The dominance of the Heat. For the 22nd time in a row, the Heat won at home against a team from the SouthEast division. Tyler Herro's teammates are the only undefeated team this season in their division with 9 wins in 9 matches.

– Jaquez injury. The evening was not perfect for the Heat who lost their rookie Jamie Jaquez Jr. to a groin injury. He will stay in Miami during his training road trip.

– A statue for Dwyane Wade. Like the Spurs, the Heat decided to unveil a banner for the induction of Dwyane Wade into the Hall Of Fame. Pat Riley took the microphone to reveal that a statue of Wade will be erected next year.
