Health matters for Kristaps Porzinigs | NBA

The Wizards wanted to make a big move, and no doubt try to convince Bradley Beal to stay by recovering Kristaps Porzingis, a player with a rather unique profile, by this ability to protect the circle in defense, while being able to stretch the field in attack. A “unicorn” that we would like to see more on the pitch…

“My first objective is to stay on the pitch consistently” he also explained for his arrival in Washington. “Now that I’m healthy and moving well, that’s the thing I have to prove. I really think I haven’t had much luck with the injuries. Many, if not all of them, were contact injuries. These are injuries that cannot really be avoided. I do my part in the weight room, making sure my body is healthy. But you have to be lucky.”

The list of physical glitches of Kristaps Porzingis since his arrival in the NBA is very long, between rupture of a cruciate ligament, tear of the meniscus and various other less serious problems.

“I’m going to take my game to the next level because my body is going to be healthy” he promises so.

Play-in objective

While Bradley Beal will not return this season, what are the collective objectives of the Latvian in his new club, currently in 11th place in the Eastern Conference (25 wins-30 losses)?

“The first objective is to participate at least in the “play-in” and therefore to play to have a chance of making the playoffs. I am excited about this and for my next chapter as a member of this team.”

The chapter with Luka Doncic has therefore come to an end, with many promises without a future…

“It’s not what everyone expected, not what I expected, but that’s how it is sometimes in this league. Luka is a great player and I wish him success. I wish him success in achieving the goals he has set himself. “
