Do the Hawks have their sights set on Bronny James? We'll have the answer tonight, but the Atlanta franchise just picked up the 44th pick in the Draft, from the Rockets. To get that pick, Hoopshype announces that the Hawks are parting ways withAJ Griffin, their first round of Draft in 2022. After a great rookie season, the son of Adrian Griffin missed his second season, blocked by the emergence of Jalen Johnson. But he is only 20 years old, and he has his whole future ahead of him.
A strong winger, trained at Duke, Griffin had been on the Rockets' shelves since January, and the management is taking advantage of this Draft to get him back. Behind Dillon Brooks, Griffin can bring another physical and athletic dimension to the Rockets' squad. But the competition is tough with Jae'sean Tate, Amen Thompson or Jeff Green. But Tate and Green's contracts are not guaranteed, and maybe the management will sacrifice one of the two.
