Cut by AtlantaBruno Fernando had been playing there for a year and a half, after launching his NBA career there in 2019. Mainly used off the bench, the Angolan is paying the price for his contract which was not fully guaranteed for next season and the presence of several interiors in the squad: Clint Capela, Jalen Johnson, Onyeka Okongwu, Larry Nance Jr and Mouhamed Gueye.
In his place, the Hawks are taking advantage of the opportunity to recruit Dominick Barlow, who will inherit a ” two-way contract ” in Georgia and who will therefore share his time between the NBA and the G-League. Previously with the Spurs, this 21-year-old power forward has averaged 4.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in around sixty games in the league.
Two-way contract : Designed to create a new bridge between the NBA and the G-League, this type of contract allows each team to secure the services of two or three additional players, to have them play mainly in their affiliated development league franchise but also up to 50 matches in the NBA.
