Harrison Barnes: three more years at the Kings!

Harrison Barnes will not go through the “free agency” box this summer. Having become one of the leaders of the Sacramento locker room since his arrival in 2019, the 2015 NBA champion has been a benchmark of great reliability and great regularity over the years. Precious for his versatility and his experience during the rise of the Californian franchise, rewarded with a third place in the West for the season, he had expressed his desire to extend the adventure at the end of a historic exercise.

With such guarantees on a sporting and human level, Sacramento has therefore done what is necessary to preserve it, deploying a three-year, $54 million deal which the player initialed on Thursday. Among the three players to play all 82 regular season games last season (along with Mikal Bridges and Nikola Vucevic), Harrison Barnes is dropping below the $20 million per year mark, and he will earn slightly less than before ($85 million over four years).

At 31, he is now tied to Sacramento until 2026, and he remains one of the team’s major players alongside De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. It is rumored that the Lithuanian could also extend this summer, with a contract exceeding 100 million dollars.
