At the end of the contract with the Kings, Harrison Barnes comes to a turning point in his career. At 31, the 2015 NBA champion contributed a lot to Sacramento’s return to the playoffs, a first since 2006. This allowed him to acquire the label of a veteran who could blend into a winning collective. In addition, certain franchises such as the Pacers and the Mavericks are interested in the profile of the 2015 NBA champion.
But now, as the transfer market opens its doors on Friday, ESPN reports that the Kings have resumed talks with the player’s clan. Good news for him, who had expressed his desire to stay in Sacramento, after the elimination in the first round of the playoffs against the Warriors.
In the season that just ended, he received a salary of 18.3 million dollars, and he can expect to receive as much over several seasons. Beyond his experience and versatility, Barnes is a “glue guy”, and he is one of the handful of players who played in all 82 regular season games last season.
