Hall of Fame 2024 | Vince Carter and the “Redeem Team” among the candidates for the Hall of Fame

It's difficult to be more prestigious than the 2023 vintage of the Hall of Fame since this year Tony Parker, Dirk Nowitzki, Dwyane Wade, Pau Gasol and Gregg Popovich entered the pantheon.

There are still some pretty names that are now eligible to accompany them in 2024. We can note those of Vince Carter, Shawn Marion, Chauncey Billups, Bill Laimbeer, Tom Chambers or even Michael Cooper and Terry Cummings.

The American team from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the famous “Redeem Team”, is also in this list. She could thus join that of 1992 in Barcelona, the legendary “Dream Team”, and that of 1960 in Rome, with Jerry West and Oscar Robertson, already honored by the Hall of Fame.

Big names in European basketball

Continuing to explore the list, we come across the name of Joey Crawford, the angry referee of the 2000s and that of David Blatt, the former coach of the Cavaliers, winner of the Eurobasket in 2007 and the Euroleague in 2014.

The latter is accompanied by another illustrious European technician, Ettore Messina, and the two are part of an “international” section filled with big names. The proof: Andrei Kirilenko, Jorge Garbajosa, Fabricio Oberto, Juan Carlos Navarro, Andres Nocioni.

This first list will be refined during All-Star weekend, February 16, with the announcement of the finalists. To know the final (and so secret) choice of the committee and the new entrants, you will have to wait until April 6, during the NCAA Final Four.
