Guerschon Yabusele to hang LeBron James poster in his home

Along with Isaïa Cordinier and Mathias Lessort, he was the one who completely changed the face of the French team in the second week of the Olympic Games. Elected in the second best five of the competition, Guershon Yabusele did more damage in the final, against the United States, with 20 points on 6/14 shooting.

He even received the “MVP”, “MVP” from the public at the Arena Bercy, during the match and again on the podium, when the Blues received their medals.

“It pushes me. Especially since it was in moments when I was a little tired. At that moment, you tell yourself that it's the final and it helps everyone, in fact. I'm proud of everyone, my teammates, the staff… Because it wasn't an easy competition and we deserve this medal because we really went for it.”

“When I see him, I tell myself that either I dunk or he blocks me. I don't have the choice to make a layup or what. At that moment, you don't think.”

After a final that was ultimately played on “Small mistakes, we missed a lot of open shots, me first, small turnovers, small communication errors in defense… Silly things, but which count in the end. We caused them problems, we know they doubted.”

And then there's the action of the game: his poster of LeBron James, please!

“It was an incredible play but when I see it, I tell myself that either I dunk or he blocks me. I don't have the choice to make a layup or what. At that moment, you don't think. When I saw the contact and I made it anyway, it shocked everyone. I'm still going to put the poster up at home.”

Perhaps next to this silver medal, his second after that of Tokyo, even if there are “fed up” of this metal and that he would now like gold. But unlike some teammates, he does not shun it.

“The problem with the silver medal is that you play the final, you lose it and then you have to laugh. When you play for third place, you get the medal, you arrive and you're happy. It's a difficult feeling but I wouldn't trade that for third place. I'm happy and proud because we gave it our all.”
