As in 2019–20, for their 25th anniversary, the Grizzlies will reconnect with their Canadian origins for their 30th anniversary. Thus, we learn that the franchise will kick off its 2024–25 home season by honoring its years in Vancouver (1995–2001) with a throwback jersey and special flooring.
This time, the dominant color of this tunic is white and not turquoise, however present at the level of the font in order to remind us of the visual identity so characteristic of the Grizzlies of the late 1990s. See you on October 26 against Orlando to observe the players of Memphis in their new outfit and on their new floor.
A cult jersey
At the time, we remember that it was the Grizzlies' poor results that caused their move from Vancouver to Memphis, despite the wishes of David Stern, then head of the NBA. The most notable faces of this period were Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Bryant Reeves and Mike Bibby, until Pau Gasol finally brought success to Tennessee.
