Grizzlies send Steven Adams to Rockets

Just before the replacements for the All-Star Game were announced, ESPN announced a transfer between Grizzlies and the Rockets. On the one hand, Steven Adams is sent to Houston. The other, Victor Oladipo and three second-round draft picks are sent to Memphis.

An exchange between two long-term knee injuries, incidentally former teammates at OKC, since Steven Adams and Victor Oladipo have not played a single match all season. For Adams, this will not change by April while, for Oladipo, there is a good chance that it will change in the days or even weeks to come.

A big deal for Memphis

This transfer allows the Grizzlies to recover a player at the end of his contract (Victor Oladipo), and therefore save money for the next free agencythey who have obviously already given up on the current season, with the obtaining of three future Draft choices (2024, 2024, 2025) and the major injury to Ja Morant.

For the Rockets, looking for a pivot on the market in recent days to support Alperen Sengun, this ensures them an interior referenced for the start of the 2024/25 season, hoping that Steven Adams recovers well from his ligament injury crossed for what will be his last year of contract before testing the free agency.
