Will Spurs’ 11-game losing streak end tonight? The Texans have a real chance of achieving this when they receive the Rockets, who are ahead of them with a small victory at the bottom of the West standings.
To achieve their goals, Keldon Johnson’s teammates will benefit from two returns, starting with Gregg Popovich, who has been absent for two games following a minor medical intervention. The 73-year-old strategist therefore returned to training yesterday, in order to prepare for tonight’s derby.
“He started training the way he knows how to, getting into the players and insisting on the details and the little things. It’s good that he’s back with us.”, thus slipped Josh Richardson.
The latter is also expected to return after missing six games with an ankle injury.
“The foot is holding up. I had a good practice today. I’ve been playing a bit of pick-ups the past two days, so hopefully I’ll be able to prepare to come back.”he added.
His return will not change the face of the team but there is no doubt that his contribution will be valuable in view of the situation that San Antonio is going through with this series of defeats. As a reminder, you have to go back to 1988/89 to find Spurs’ longest losing streak, with 13 straight losses at the time.
