Gordon Hayward “disappointed” and “frustrated” by his time with the Thunder

When the Thunder recovered Gordon Hawyard At the trade deadline, we could think that it was a good pick. Even though the winger was injured at the time, his versatility and experience could do Oklahoma City good.

A few months later, it is clear that the graft has not taken. The former Jazz and Celtics player did not score any points in the playoffs, not even leaving the bench in the last three games against Dallas…

“I’m disappointed with the way things turned out. It was certainly frustrating” he reacted like this after the elimination of Oklahoma City. “I think as a player I still have a lot to offer. I haven't really had the chance to do it. I thought I would be given this opportunity.”

The problem is that like in Charlotte, Gordon Hayward seemed passive as soon as he didn't have the ball in hand.

Although he didn't play much during these playoffs, he still walked the field for a total of 46 minutes. And he only took three shots, all missed, in that time.

“I think with the minutes that I was given, and like I said, with the role that I had, there were a few possessions where I could have been more aggressive” he agrees. “But I've never really been the type of player to go one-on-one every chance I get, or take a difficult contested shot.”

At 34, Gordon Hayward is reaching the end of his four-year, $120 million contract signed with the Hornets in 2020. He will therefore be an unprotected “free agent” and we should not see him again in Oklahoma City.
