Geographical neighbors, Bucks and the Bulls met again almost a month after their first confrontation and, this time, they were Giannis Antetokounmpo (41 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists), Brook Lopez (21 points), Damian Lillard (20 points, 10 assists) and others who took over the teammates of Zach LaVine (27 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds).
The match starts on an offensive basis and the two teams go blow for blow after twelve minutes, even if the Bucks stand out somewhat thanks to the contribution of their bench, and the duo AJ Green – Gary Trent Jr. at 3- points (36-30). It is then that the Bulls begin to let go, faced with the accuracy of Brook Lopez combined with the efficiency of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard and even Bobby Portis. The gap increases, and not just a little, even if Zach LaVine manages to stop the bleeding as best he can with his aggressiveness (69-57).
After the break, Giannis Antetokounmpo makes his defenders look like children, but Zach LaVine remains hot and Chicago can also count on Torrey Craig to punish. But as Giannis, certainly lonely, is just monstrous, Milwaukee does not let go of the controls (98-90). Without Giannis resting, the Bulls' 3-point skill remains insolent, but Damian Lillard gets back on track and, in the company of Brook Lopez, he initiates a 12-0 that looks like a breath of fresh air. The “run” that the Bucks so badly needed in order to definitively push back their opponents (122-106).
TO REMEMBER
– Giannis Antetokounmpo out of control after the break. Author of “only” 13 points in the first half, the “Greek Freak” broke it all in the third quarter: 25 points at 11/13 on the shoot! Literally alone against the Bulls, who scored 33 points over the period, he was the reason why the Bucks did not give in to the opposing attacks, while his teammates (barely… 4 points in total!) drank the ball when they saw that no Chicago defender could hold it. Like every game of every season, ultimately.
– Milwaukee suffers but wins. Everything is far from perfect, but the Bucks have a fourth success in five games. A series which puts them back in the right place in the rankings, even if they had to fight hard to win. Eight minutes from the end, there was only one possession left, but that was before Damian Lillard launched this 12-0 which changed everything, because despite a fiery 3-point skill , the Bulls were never able to come back. The fault lies with an interior sector that is too weak to prevent Giannis Antetokounmpo and his team from entering easily.
