Gary Payton II back for Golden State

It's been more than a month since Gary Payton II no longer played for the Warriors. Victim of a torn right calf, the son of the “Glove” has missed the last 13 Golden State matches.

Steve Kerr, however, announced that the back would be in uniform tonight, against the Mavs. With limited playing time.

With his 5.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 17 minutes this season, the precious but fragile Gary Payton II is one of the soldiers of the Bay, his athletic and defensive qualities being highly appreciated by Steve Kerr.

He should therefore quite easily find his place in the team's rotation, although it will be interesting to see how the Warriors distribute the minutes on the outside, between Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, Jonathan Kuminga, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins , now that Gary Payton II is also available…

“I think about it every day. It's my job obviously. It's very hard “explained Steve Kerr recently about his rotations. “There are years when the nine players to be used impose themselves and we play with them. The others then try to understand their role and we work with them. We try to fit them into the mold. This season, it's different, we have thirteen players in the rotation. Everyone has the qualities to be on the ground and justify their presence. But I can only play nine or ten. These are not easy decisions. »
