Game 2 achieves a nice audience success

There were a lot more people on Sunday evening than Thursday to watch Game 2 between the Celtics and the Mavericks! While the first round attracted an average of 11 million viewers on Thursday, Game 2 had an average audience of 12 million viewers, with a peak at 14.1 million around 10 p.m.. That’s an increase of 10%. It's also 1% better than Game 2 between the Nuggets and the Heat in 2023, and that between the Celtics and the Warriors in 2022.

This is quite simply the best audience for a Game 2 since 2019. At the time, Game 2 between the Warriors and the Raptors came close to 14 million viewers. It was before the Covid period.

In the Top 5 audiences since 2020

When we look at the figures from the previous two years, we had to wait until Game 5 of the series between the Nuggets and the Heat to reach this milestone of 12 million viewers. In 2022, the bar was crossed in Game 4.

Overall, this Game 2 equals the 5th largest audience since the interruption linked to the pandemic. The best audiences belong to Games 5 and 6 of the 2022 Finals, followed by Game 5 of the 2023 Finals and finally Game 6 of the 2021 Finals.
