Gabby Williams decisive in Storm victory

The Storm have not yet solved all their current problems, but the teammates of Gabby Williams returned to victory against the Dream (85-81). Under the watchful eye of Marine Johannès, Gabby Williams was the starter and, above all, decisive, since it was the French-French point guard who intercepted a throw-in with 11 seconds left to play. The Storm took a time-out, and it was Jewell Loyd who secured the victory with free throws. Opposite, the legend Tina Charles scored the first triple-double in the history of the franchise with 19 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists!

“Everyone had big plays and big shots throughout the game and that's what we're going to need.” Lloyd reactedauthor of 28 points with a nice 5 out of 8 at 3-pointers. “It won't always be easy, but we've been able to make some important stops that have put us in this position.”

Friday, the Storm – Liberty clash!

Starting in her second game, Williams has yet to find the target with a 1 of 6 shooting, but she has been active with 5 rebounds, 1 assist and this decisive interception. After three defeats in four games, the Storm has responded well. “It was night and day. A 180 degree turn.” says coach Noelle Quinn. “We talked about it for a day and a half… Having the right attitude and the right approach, and I think my players had that.”

In terms of accounting, the Storm remains 3rd in the championship with 19 wins for 11 losses. Friday, it will be the shock against the Liberty with, in case of victory, the validation of the ticket for the playoffs. For the Dream, the playoffs are still far away with 10 wins for 20 losses. Ninth, Tina Charles' teammates are one victory behind the Chicago Sky, in position of last qualified.
