Frank Vogel completes his staff with two former Lakers assistants

With the exception of Kevin Young, who was the right arm of Monty Williams, Frank Vogel will be surrounded only by assistants he knew at the Lakers. Thus, after attracting David Fizdale and Quentin Crawford, the Bleacher Report reveals that the new Phoenix coach went to find Miles Simon and John Lucas III, who were at his side in Los Angeles.

Simon spent five years at the Lakers, from 2017 to 2022, and the last year he was the coach of their G-League team, the South Bay Lakers. Former star of the University of Arizona, it is a homecoming for him.

As for Lucas, he is the son of John Lucas, the famous Rockets assistant and former Spurs coach. After a 12-year career, he began his conversion to Wolves in 2017, before joining the Lakers for the 2021/22 season. Vogel’s last at the helm of the team.
