Former starter in Oklahoma City, Andre Roberson is relaunching in Cholet

At 32, the career ofAndre Roberson is not over, as he tries to get back on track since his very serious injury (and then relapse) to his left knee, which occurred in January 2018.

Since then, the former defensive back, a starter for the Thunder alongside Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka, has clung to his NBA dream, making a very brief return to the league, with the Thunder and then the Nets.

Relaunched for a time by Oklahoma City in the G-League, he has in recent months accompanied Dwight Howard to Dubai for the International Basketball Championship, then more recently participated in “The Basketball Tournament”, compiling 15.5 points and 9.3 rebounds on average in this tournament where the winner wins a million dollars.

“To replace Aaron, during his unavailability, we have bet on Andre Roberson, who will bring us his experience at the very highest level, his leadership, as well as his defensive qualities.” explains Fabrice Lefrançois, the Cholet coach, in a press release. “Andre is also a facilitator in the game. He participated a few weeks ago in the TBT tournament against several players playing or having played in Pro A, like Rob Gray, Tashawn Thomas… Consequently, he is physically ready to play.”

Elected to the second All-Defensive Team in 2017, Andre Roberson has more than 300 NBA games to his credit, including 269 as a starter. Notably during the 2016 playoff campaign, which ended in the conference final against the Warriors, while the Thunder were leading 3-1 in the series…
