Taj Gibson cut in the offseason, Derrick Rose (33) is the last great veteran of the Knicks. Just in front of a certain… Evan Fournier (29 years old). The idea of injecting experienced players into the workforce would therefore be in the cards in New York. The candidates are not lacking but according to the New York Postwe must already rule out three names: Blake Griffin (33 Years), LaMarcus Aldridge (37) and Carmelo Anthony (38).
Three former All-Stars, still looking for a contract for next season, which would not interest the franchise. The name of the third had however been mentioned last June. The former Knicks star (38), who played for the Lakers last season, would see a second track cool down for him after the Celtics.
As for the two former Nets players, also at minimum wage (2.6 million dollars), the idea would have been to make them mentors for Julius Randle and Obi Toppin. After the departure of Taj Gibson, the Knicks racket is generally young and rather inexperienced (Mitchell Robinson, Isaiah Hartenstein, Jericho Sims…).
