Quentin Grimes is indeed hit in the foot and missed the first two preseason matches. He still hopes to play before the start of serious things and regrets not having been able to fight on equal terms against the former Denver and Orlando for a starting place.

“I had to prove myself and I didn’t have the chance to do it”, he continues. “It would have been a great competition between Evan and me, he’s a big competitor. I wanted to try my luck and it would have been a hell of a battle. Nevertheless, it helps me on a daily basis, that’s for sure. »

With his 3-point qualities and his defense, Quentin Grimes is one of Tom Thibodeau’s favorite players, to the point that the Knicks did not want to let him go during negotiations with the Jazz around the transfer of Donovan Mitchell. It is therefore very likely that if Evan Fournier struggles at the start of the season, like last year, the New York coach will not hesitate to launch the 25th choice of the 2021 Draft alongside Jalen Brunson.
