For its audience, Jazz ends on a good note

The Jazz played their last home game on Thursday, and Keyonte George's partners celebrated their fans in the best possible way with a victory over the Rockets. In passing, the Jazz ended a series of 13 games without a victory. Their last success dates back to March 16 against the Hawks, and Will Hardy expressed his relief but also his pride to see his (young) players determined to finish on a good note.

“I am very, very proud of the team. They deserve this victory”, says the Jazz coach. “Obviously, it’s been a complicated few weeks and you don’t see how they are behind the scenes. How engaged they were during workouts or video sessions. As they never pointed fingers at anyone or let go emotionally and mentally. They just kept going, and it showed today how desperate they were on certain plays, especially in the second half. This is what we always want to achieve. »

A positive result at home

Despite an overall record of 30 wins for 50 losses, the Jazz finished with a positive record at home: 21 wins for 20 losses at the Delta Center. The opportunity for the coach to pay tribute to the public.

“We recognize this room for its true value”confides Hardy. “We love the opportunity we have to play here and we want it to be a place other teams don't want to travel to. There are several factors that come into account. The fans obviously play a big role in this. But we always want to protect our land. »

Just before the match, John Collins took the microphone to thank the fans one last time. “I just want to say thank you on behalf of myself, my teammates and the organization before the last game here. Thank you for your support, “ threw the interior to the crowd. “It’s been a complicated season, but we worked hard for you. Thank you for everything and see you soon » he added by way of goodbye.

Repeating this kind of performance in the last two matches will not be an easy task for the Jazz. They have to face two teams fighting for home advantage. They first go to Los Angeles to play against the Clippers who want home field advantage against the Mavs. Then they will end the season against the Warriors who also want to play at home during the “play-in” or even obtain a double chance by reaching 8th place.
