For Facundo Campazzo, Guerschon Yabusele is “a difficult player to replace”

After its successful 2024 Olympic Games, Guershon Yabusele got a second chance in the NBA. He therefore leaves behind Real Madrid, a club with which he notably won the Euroleague in 2023.

“These are things that can happen” comments Facundo Campazzo. “It happened to me at one point too. After his great performances at the Olympics, where he played a key role, it was a possibility. He's a tough player to replace, but we have what it takes to do it. I wish him a lot of success in the NBA.”

To try to compensate for the impact of the French interior, who averaged 10.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in the Euroleague last season, the “White House” is counting on its recruits, Usman Garuba And Serge Ibaka.

Guerschon Yabusele is not the only Frenchman to have left Real Madrid since Fabien Causeurat the club since 2017, has also left, heading to his side of Olimpia Milan. Not to mention that the historic Rudy Fernandez And Sergio Rodriguez have retired…

“They had been here for many years and knew what the club stood for.” concludes Facundo Campazzo. “Now it’s up to us to continue the legacy, to stay united, to have fun, to enjoy ourselves and to work hard – all the things that go with playing for Madrid. And to help the new players adapt quickly. And then we have (Sergio) Llull, our leader.”
