For Caitlin Clark, an NCAA career without a title but also without regrets

Caitlin Clark therefore played his last university match last night. The leading scorer in NCAA history, however, was unable to overthrow South Carolina, Kamilla Cardoso and her teammates being too solid on defense, and too powerful under the circle for Iowa.

For the second year in a row, Caitlin Clark and her comrades failed on the last step, after their defeat against LSU last year, but for the shooter, it is not time for regrets.

“Whether it was the way the fans supported me, the way I was able to represent the state I grew up in, the presence of my family at every game, there is not a single regret in my mind “, she explained. “I'll be able to fall asleep every night, even if I don't win a national championship. »

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Caitlin Clark preferred to play for the local university, rather than join one of the dominant girls' programs.

“I don’t bitch about things that never happened. My mother always taught me to hold my head high and be proud of everything I accomplished. And I want so much more” she continues.

The WNBA in a few days… before the Paris Olympics?

Soon, the WNBA will be on the agenda for Caitlin Clark, with the Draft (of which she should be the first choice) in a few days, and a season which will start in a little over a month.

“I think it helps me. What better way to train and prepare for the next stage of my life than playing in the Final Four? I will soon be able to play my first WNBA game here. These moments will prepare me for the next chapter of my life, but I also want to enjoy this one” she further explains.

The summer could also be particularly busy for the 22-year-old basketball player, since she has a good chance of being present with the American team during the Paris Olympic Games!

In the meantime, and even without a March Madness title to crown her four seasons at Iowa, Caitlin Clark can be proud of what she achieved with the Hawkeyes. In addition to statistical achievements, she also contributed greatly to bringing the big spotlight to women's basketball.

“When I look back on my career [à l’Iowa]I know I gave everything I had”she concluded with a smile. “Actually, everyone thought there was no way Iowa would make it to the Final Four even once. So do it twice? It's pretty incredible. »
