For Cade Cunningham, change is now!

Like the Pistons, the professional baseball franchise from the city of Detroit has had its dark hours. The Tigers have in fact gone nine seasons with a negative record, without managing to reach the playoffs.

That dry spell is about to end as the Tigers sit in second place in the American League Central Division with a record of 84 wins and 74 losses. The momentum is positive again, and the Pistons' leader, Cade Cunninghamwas able to witness this yesterday at Campus Martius, during a party organized by the Tigers to celebrate the arrival of their new partner, StockX.

The leader, who celebrated his 23rd birthday at the same time, now hopes that this renewal will have an impact on the Pistons, who also want to get back to winning ways after having spent the last five seasons between 13th and 15th place in the East…

“It’s really cool to watch. That’s the way we want to be. You see the Lions doing the same thing with football. Detroit is moving, and I think we’ll be next. Like Arn Tellem (Pistons vice president) said, the best is yet to come.”, he notably declared.

Bickerstaff-Langdon ticket to revive the Pistons

The arrivals of Trajan Langdon as president of basketball operations and JB Bickerstaff as the new coach should indeed allow Detroit to get back on track. Cade Cunningham believes in any case that this year could be the right one, the one that will tip the Pistons into the good half of the table in the East.

“It’s a new year. We’re excited to start a new season, a new beginning. There’s a lot of new faces. Trajan is here, I’m happy with everything he’s done. It’s an exciting time for the franchise and we have a lot of opportunities to improve and grow.”

Trajan Langdon made sure to put Cade Cunningham at the center of his project, by extending him for $224 million over five years, then by adding profiles to improve the “spacing” around him, with the recruitment of players like Tobias Harris, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Malik Beasley.

For the Pistons' conductor, all the elements are in place to begin the exercise with confidence.

“I think we've had a very good relationship so far. We're getting to know each other and analyzing what we want to do and how we want to achieve success.”Cade Cunningham continued about his relationship with Trajan Langdon. “Now that the season is coming up and he's able to see us on the field and see the adjustments we have to make, I'm confident he'll be able to do everything we need him to do. And I'll do everything he needs me to do. That's the most important thing, really.”
