Finally, Alperen Sengun will represent Turkey this summer

Good news for the Türkiye, ten days before the start of the pre-Olympic qualifying tournament that she will play at home (August 12-20). As reported by local media Fanatik, Alperen Sengun will finally defend the colors of his country this summer, contrary to what was announced last week.

Initially, the pivot of Rockets had to miss this international window, like Cedi Osman, but he managed to be available for his selection, finishing his training in the United States earlier than planned to join her in Italy.

It is recalled that the pre-Olympic qualifying tournament concerns countries that are not qualified for the Paris Olympics. To be so, they will have to win this pre-TQO in order to have the right to play, in July 2024, a decisive (and higher) Olympic qualifying tournament.

This summer, Turkey will challenge Iceland, Bulgaria then Ukraine and, in addition to Alperen Sengun, they should be able to count on Furkan Korkmaz and Ömer Yurtseven, two other “NBAers”.
