Facundo Campazzo soon to return to Real Madrid

According to Eurohoops, Facundo Campazzo would be about to sign a three-year contract for 9 million euros (gross) with Real Madrid, a club in which he has already played in the past, between 2017 and 2020. He would receive a net salary around 1.5 million euros per season due to his tax status in Spain, meaning the Argentine would take a significant pay cut to reunite with Madrid.

The 32-year-old Argentinian joined the NBA in 2020 on a two-year contract with the Nuggets. In Colorado, he averaged 5.6 points, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals in 20.1 minutes per game.

Last October, he signed up for a year with Dallas, reuniting with his former Madrid teammate, Luka Doncic. Except that he was released by the Texas franchise after only 8 games. He therefore chose to return to Europe, where he recalled his talent under the colors of Red Star Belgrade. In nine EuroLeague games this season, he has averaged 15 points, 5.9 assists and 1.9 steals.

The choice to return to Real Madrid seems to be a choice of the heart, as he benefited from more lucrative financial offers from several clubs, such as Red Star Belgrade or Panathinaikos.
