Even without their interior duo, the Wolves win against the Lakers
October 13, 2022
As Darvin Ham had finally decided to field his “Big Three” at the same time, a first in this preseason, and the Wolves arrived in Los Angeles without Karl-Anthony Towns or Rudy Gobert, the Lakers clearly had the advantage over the paper.
Except that despite the good start to the game from LeBron James and a 7-0 to start, the Californians will be weighed down by their clumsiness at 3-pts (10/39). The Wolves, they respond behind the arc and always come back.
Naz Reid was particularly dominant in the first half and Wolves took the lead, which they kept going into the final quarter. The Lakers coach then decides to breathe his stars, like Anthony Davis or LeBron James, and launch the young people.
In this last act, Minnesota relies on Luka Garza to widen the gap. The pivot scored 10 points in a row, before a response from the Lakers, including Cole Swider, and an 11-0. But that is not enough. The Wolves will resist until the end and finally win 113-118.
