Euro U20: French teams remain on top of Europe

Another golden summer for the French youth teams. Indeed, in the U20 women's team, more than a week agothe Blues retained their title of European champions against Spain. They were imitated by the Blues this Sunday.

Yet, Noah Penda (15 points and 14 rebounds) and his team were in a bad way against Slovenia. As we entered the last four minutes, they were still eight points behind…

But with prize-winning shots and effective defense, including a big block from Zacharie Perrin (19 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks), the players of the French team will come back and win 82-78, to confirm the success against Israel in 2023.

Noah Penda and Zacharie Perrin finished in the top five of the competition, along with Urban Klavzar (Slovenia), Nathan Missia-Dio (Belgium) and Vangelis Zougris (Greece). Zacharie Perrin was even elected MVP of the competition with his 15.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists on average.

To salute this double double, feminine and masculine, Jean-Pierre Siutat, the president of the federation highlighted THE “great reservoir of our youth teams”. “Let's take advantage of these two gold medals which represent a projection towards the future as the Olympic tournaments begin next weekend”he added.
