Things are getting better in Miami after a sluggish start to the regular season. The Floridians have indeed just won seven wins in their last ten matches, and Eric Spoelstra had the pleasure of seeing his lieutenants like Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo or even Duncan Robinson get in tune with their leader, Jimmy Butlerto trigger a new dynamic.
For the Heat technician, who saw his team return to the Top 5 in the East (12 wins – 10 losses), the objective is now to preserve this balance as long as possible, a mission undermined by rumors reporting of a possible departure of Jimmy Butler towards a franchise capable of winning a title in the short term.
Erik Spoelstra therefore took the opportunity of his appearance in front of the press to try to calm things down, also mentioning Tyler Herro, who is also a recurring target of the rumors section.
Jimmy Butler skips the media box
“I didn't mention anything, like I always have. I think the most important message is that we are three wins in a row and that the player who has been the subject of so many departure rumors over the last three years, has become the “Player of the Week “. This player was believed to be likely to leave every week. Upon arrival, he is still there, and he is voted “Player of the Week”. That's all », he said.
The future will tell more about the veracity of the rumors concerning “Jimmy Buckets”, who was not extended by the Heat this summer. In the meantime, Erik Spoelstra has kept the same posture: for him, these rumors only aim to throw a grain of sand into the Florida mechanics which have been running rather well for a month.
“This is the most consistent time of the season so far, everything else I don't care about, and everyone else should do the same, because most of this stuff, it's not is just nonsense »he added.
To go in his direction, the Rockets, who were one of the teams cited as potentially interested in recovering Jimmy Butler, confirmed that they did not want to upset their workforce through the voice of their GM Rafael Stone.
The Heat winger, for his part, preferred not to speak to the press in the wake of the rumors about him.
