Eric Gordon very inspired by his return to Houston

Last night, the Rockets released a tribute video, and it was to thank Eric Gordon. Arriving at the Suns this summer, the former world champion played for six and a half years at the Rockets, and he had the best years there, alongside James Harden, but also the worst with this reconstruction phase.

Wednesday evening, against his former teammates, the former Clippers guard simply had his best game of the season with 27 points, 7 of 11 from 3-point range. We will especially remember his heat in the 2nd quarter with 17 units to allow the Suns to make the break.

A turning point in his career

“It was great to come back here. I have a lot of good memories there, and I had a lot of fun there. It was a major turning point in my career” he recalled. It was indeed in Houston that he became the best sixth man in the NBA, and where he established himself as one of the best replacements in the NBA.

“I experienced unique moments there. We cannot forget them” he insists. “It was the first time I was a free agent, and I chose to come here.”

Now aged 35, he offers himself a new challenge at the Suns, as an offensive joker. The graft had difficulty taking, and he got annoyed, but last night, everything worked with Kevin Durant focused on creation.

The easy trigger

“We did what we're supposed to do… We used everyone, and everyone played well. This should be the norm” he continues. “Of course, there was a little more motivation tonight, but if we play like that, there will be a lot of nights where I can shoot like that, and make 3-pointers. I will be ready, and I want to do it.”

For his part, Kevin Durant noted that it was a different Eric Gordon. The two know each other well since they were world champions together in 2010!

“He was trigger-happy tonight” notes the MVP of the night. “He didn’t hesitate. He didn't pretend. He didn't try to penetrate. Tonight, he wanted to score 3-pointers! »
