Eric Gordon hesitates to stay with the Suns

Landed last summer in Arizona to complete a busy recruitment process, quickly announcing that it was the title or nothing for this luxury squad hastily assembled around the “Big Three”, Kevin Durant – Devin Booker – Bradley Beal, Eric Gordon has been disillusioned since…

The veteran back fell from high with a “sweep” masterfully orchestrated by Anthony Edwards and the long-toothed Wolves. The first sweep suffered by the Suns since 1999.

It's quite simple: with an average of 8 points at 32% shooting success (but a decent 41% from 3-point range), Eric Gordon has never weighed so little in the playoffs in his career! “It’s obviously very disappointing. I know that the fans, even us players, didn’t see our season ending like that…”

A “very talented” team lacking “cohesion”

Starting 24 times, but more often a member of the second unit in which he had an improvised leadership role, Eric Gordon recorded 11 points at 38% 3-point success. A decent season but nothing more. Enough to make him think about the future since he has a “player option” at $3.4 million.

“There’s no way I’m going to make my decision now.”whispered the veteran in The Arizona Republic after elimination. “I'm just going to enjoy the offseason, watch a lot of these games [qui restent à jouer] and see what will happen. We still have a very talented team. We simply need to find even more cohesion and be more united. But my decision is not for now…”

Eric Gordon has until June 29 to activate, or not, this clause, and perhaps he is waiting for his end-of-season interview with his managers, or to find out if Frank Vogel will be kept in office, before making his choice .

Player option : possibility for a player to activate (or not) the last year of his contract, in order to end his lease or become a “free agent” one year in advance.
