Ekpe Udoh joins Quin Snyder’s coaching staff at the Hawks

Quin Snyder continues to set up his staff for next season with the Hawks. An eclectic staff since he first recruited Mike Brey, the former coach of Notre Dame in NCAA with whom he officiated in Mike Krzyzewski’s staff at Duke in the early 90s, then Igor Kokoskov, who already accompanied him in Utah.

Video assistant to Asvel and the Blues, the Frenchman Bryan George has also agreed to join the Hawks.

And this time, The Athletic announces the arrival of Ekpe Udoh in the staff of Georgia. A surprise because it was not known that the American-Nigerian interior had retired, while still playing in Japan.

At 36, the 6th choice of the 2010 Draft by the Warriors did not really shine in the NBA, being quickly exchanged (against Andrew Bogut) without ever succeeding in imposing himself in the rotation of a franchise, despite his qualities physical. It was ultimately in Europe that he shone the most, winning the Euroleague with Fenerbahce in 2017, an edition during which he was elected MVP of the Final Four.

It had allowed him to get a second chance in the NBA, at the Jazz… Quin Snyder of course. A second experience as inconclusive as the first, his playing time being reduced over the months in Salt Lake City.
