Efficient, smiling and benevolent, Jerami Grant conquered the Blazers

Among the very good picks of the summer and the successful exchanges, there is the one made by the Blazers with the arrival of Jerami Grantfrom Detroit.

Revealed to the Nuggets then Olympic champion with Team USA, the winger quickly established himself as Damian Lillard’s most regular lieutenant, and the latter underlines his impact on the team.

“I think he has brought an extra dimension to our team on both sides of the pitch” explains Damian Lillard at HoopsHype. “Often, he takes care of the most difficult opponent in defense. He uses his size, stature and athleticism to disrupt the game. He allows guys like Anfernee and myself to play off the ball and not wear ourselves out defensively with every possession so we can mark and create to the fullest. Offensively, he is capable of scoring in isolation, in transition, making 3-pointers and posting. He does so many different things for us on both sides of the court. He is so versatile. We are a much better team with Jerami Grant.

A positive personality

Beyond his qualities as a basketball player, Chauncey Billups appreciates his character and his enthusiasm. “He has an infectious personality. He smiles all the time. He’s a benevolent person. It is always positive, whether we lose or win. His demeanor never changes, and he soon became one of the leaders of the group. »

While the team is experiencing its first shot less well, Jerami Grant explains why he feels so good in Portland, where his dad played, and where he was born 28 years ago.

“It’s an extremely talented group, a mix of young and older players who know how to play” appreciates Harvey’s son. “It suits me well. I think we can be really good. With what we have, we can clearly win. We have a lot of talented players who can score. We have a lot of defenders. We have rebounders. We have a bit of everything. I think we can be really good, and we are already good. But we can do a lot better, and I can’t wait to see that. »
