Dwight Howard to appear on “Dancing with the Stars”!

The show “Dancing with the Stars” will begin its 33rd season in the United States, starting September 17. In the cast of this new season, we find a former NBA player: Dwight Howard.

Will the former Orlando, Los Angeles and Houston center be able to transfer the enormous athletic qualities he showed on the field into dance? “Good question!”, he answers. “I'm going to have as much fun as possible and smile. I've always danced. I'm lucky to have this opportunity.”

Dwight Howard is not the first former NBA player to participate in this show. Before him, basketball greats have danced in front of millions of viewers: Clyde Drexler, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Rick Fox, Metta World Peace, Derek Fisher, Lamar Odom and Charles Oakley.

Iman Shumpert even did better than just participating since, in 2021 and with his partner Daniella Karagach, the former Cavaliers guard outright won the show! He thus became the first NBA player to achieve this, while several NFL players (four exactly) had already registered their names on the prize list.

It is also with Daniella Karagach that Dwight Howard will also team up this season.
