Drew Eubanks soon naturalized by Italy?

While the Italian selection is still wondering if Paolo Banchero will join the team in the future, it seems set to explore alternatives to the rookie from Orlando. According to BasketNewsthe transalpine federation seeks to naturalize the interior of the Blazers, Drew Eubanks.

The idea makes sense as Italy don’t have many options inside and have always been a small team. The advantage of such a profile therefore makes sense for the Azzurri, who should soon be able to count, for the World Cup, on Darius Thompson, married to an Italian and in the process of becoming an Italian citizen.

After a very solid end to the season last year in Portland (14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds), the native of Mississippi signed a year with around 7 points and 5 rebounds on average coming off the bench for the Blazers. The person concerned has Italian roots within his family, but we will have to wait to see if that is enough to recover a passport.

The undrafted player still has little chance of donning the Italian jersey in the short term. He could remain an option in the future, especially if Paolo Banchero were to opt for the American selection.
