Draft 2024 | Zaccharie Risacher, Alexandre Sarr and Tidjane Salaün invited to the “Green Room”

Every year, the NBA asks executives who have a first-round pick to give it a list of 25 players they think will be taken in the first round of the Draft. This makes it possible to reach a sort of consensus, and thus allow Adam Silver to greet the players selected with the first picks on stage.

Even if it doesn't guarantee a place in the first round (Bol Bol, Nic Claxton or Rashard Lewis were in the “Green Room” before falling in the second round…), it's still a pretty good indicator.

ESPN also reports that the first 12 invitations were sent, notably to three French people: Zacharie Risacher, Alexandre Sarr And Tidjane Salaünwho are joined by Donovan Clingan, Reed Sheppard, Matas Buzelis, Stephon Castle, Dalton Knecht, Ron Holland, Cody Williams, Devin Carter and Ja'Kobe Walter.

Rob Dillingham and Nikola Topic not yet invited

Other invitations will follow depending on the next indications given by the franchises.

We can thus note the absences of Rob Dillingham And Nikola Topic in this first salvo. Hit in the ankle, the first was unable to participate in the physical tests, which he should do at the Lakers training center this Friday, in order to validate his registration for the Draft. As for the second, his knee injury cools the franchises, even if his agent wanted to be reassuring.

The “Green Room”, this room where the most anticipated players wait with their families, will be particularly important this year at the Barclays Center because the Draft now takes place over two days. In any case, ESPN explains that the number of attendants has been reduced, from ten people per player to only six this year.

As a reminder, the first round of the 2024 Draft will take place at the Barclays Center, the Nets' venue, on June 26. As for the second round, it will take place in the New York studios of ESPN on June 27.
