Draft 2024 | Presentation by Tristan Da Silva (Colorado)

No, the Draft is not just a matter of potential, of players with XXL promise for whom talent is equal to the patience sometimes necessary to see it blossom. The Heat are still delighted to have been able to get their hands on Jaime Jaquez Jr last year after his four seasons at UCLA.

Tristan Da Silva could be a worthy successor to the Florida winger, member of the best five of the rookies. Constant, without frills, the German did the beautiful days of Colorado. Its reassuring profile because of its well-tested strengths and capable of adapting to all contexts makes it one of the safest bets to bet on.

Profile

Job : winger / power forward
Size : 2m04
Weight : 98kgs
Team : Colorado Buffaloes (NCAA)
Stats 2023/24: 16 points at 49.3%, 5.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists

Strong points

– Outside shooting. Tristan Da Silva will certainly not have as many balls to exist offensively in the NBA as with the Buffaloes. His shooting must remain the first of his qualities to earn playing time with a superb 42% at 3-points on “catch-and-shoot” with almost five attempts from distance per match. Be careful, however: his skill drops drastically off the dribble, to just 21%…

– Basketball IQ. Aware of his strengths, Tristan Da Silva makes few mistakes with less than two lost balls per match. Able to play fairly indifferently on positions 3 and 4, the native of Munich reads the “mismatch” correctly, and never hesitates to make a simple but fair pass. A quality of understanding of the game which he also demonstrates away from the ball on defensive rotations.

Weak points

– Physical and athletic qualities. On paper, Tristan Da Silva has the profile to be an ideal complete forward. But he does not impress in any sector: average wingspan limiting his defensive impact and his presence on rebounds, slow fake on the first step but not powerful or explosive enough near the circle.

Comparison

Precious more than spectacular, Tristan Da Silva comes close to a Caleb Martin or a Simone Fontecchiowith at best a role of shooter / connector on the wings like Tobias Harris.

Prognosis

End of first round. He could provide some services in the rotation of a candidate for the title from his first months through his ability to carry out positive actions on the floor.
