A few days before the resumption, Doug McDermott manages to find a new franchise on the gong, or almost, since ESPN announces his signing for one year Sacramento. Probably at minimum salary.
Last season, the 32-year-old shooter (41% on 3-point career, for 8.9 points over more than 600 games) played for the Spurs then for the Pacers. He therefore relaunches among the Kingswho still had two free spots on their roster since they let Jalen McDaniels leave.
Used on the wing, Doug McDermott will have the mission of mainly making DeMar DeRozan and Keegan Murray breathe. Within a Sacramento team very focused on attack, he should logically be able to flourish individually, especially since his quality of shooting and his ability to create spaces will be beneficial in the shadow of DeRozan therefore, but also De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.
