The one who is also now at the head of Team USA, winning the title at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, almost made the Grand Slam for the first trophy, with 62 of the 67 possible votes. These are Sandy Brondello (New York) with four voices and Christie Sides (Indiana) with a vote that deprived it of unanimity.
For the manager trophy, chosen following the votes of the 12 main franchise managers, it was tighter with 10 votes for Cheryl Reeve, 8 for Talisa Rhea (Seattle), 7 for Darius Taylor (Connecticut), 4 for Nick U'ren (Phoenix), 3 for Lin Dunn (Indiana) and 2 for Jonathan Kolb (New York) and Dan Padover (Atlanta).
Already elected “Coach of the Year” in 2011, 2016 and 2020, Cheryl Reeve becomes the first to win this trophy for the fourth time in WNBA history.
Also already elected “Manager of the Year” in 2019, she won the women's league title three times with the Lynx, in 2011, 2016 and 2020. After two complicated years, she managed the club's rebound, around Napheesa Collier therefore, and a dense workforce, which relies on strong defense and sharing the ball in attack.
