Doc Rivers brings back two former Bucks assistants

As he prepares to join the Bucks (for $40 million until 2027), to take charge of the team from Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, Doc Rivers must also build his staff in Wisconsin.

ESPN and The Athletic announce that the 2008 champion, with the Celtics, has brought in two of his former assistants. It is Dave Joerger and of Rex Kalamian.

The first was already his right-hand man in Philadelphia, even if he had to stay away from the team for a while due to cancer. Previously, he had been head coach of the Grizzlies and the Kings. This season he was a consultant to JB Bickerstaff in Cleveland, as well as head of Team USA for the AmeriCup qualifiers.

The second is an old hand on the NBA circuit. An assistant in the league since 1995, he has worked with numerous franchises (Clippers, Nuggets, Wolves, Thunder, Raptors, Pistons, etc.). He knew Doc Rivers in Los Angeles, between 2018 and 2020. This season, he was a scout for the Nets, in addition to being coach of Armenia.
