Disney and ESPN to Produce Documentary on 2020 'Bubble'

On March 11, 2020, the NBA was plunged into chaos. The NBA season was interrupted in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 within the NBA. The 2019/20 season was therefore put on hold and would not resume until the summer, in an extremely particular context: a “bubble”.

The Major League found this solution by installing the players and teams still in the running for the playoffs in a campus at Disney World, in Florida. With strict controls on entry and exit.

The matches are thus played behind closed doors, with a virtual audience (spectators who are filmed in front of their screens…), on the same court and after several weeks of competition, and great things despite the situation, it is the Lakers and LeBron James who will be crowned NBA champions.

This is the crazy story that Disney and ESPN are going to tell in a documentary, we learnto provide behind the scenes insight into this experience.

No doubt with the details of the organization and the feelings of the players, who were cut off from the world for several weeks in order to play basketball and finish a season like no other. Because between boredom and distance, plus a certain sporting pressure, it was not always easy to manage for them.
