Dillon Brooks ready to “eliminate LeBron James in the first round” of the playoffs

After Grizzlies practice on Tuesday, Dillon Brooks announced to the microphones of the media present on the spot that he had no problem facing LeBron James in the playoffs. However, Taylor Jenkins’ men did not yet know their future opponent at that time, since the “play-in” between Lakers and Wolves was played later in the evening.

“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron James on a seven-game streak” launched Dillon Brooks. “The legacy is there. For his return to the playoffs, he must be eliminated immediately, in the first round. They will test us. They have good elements, good players. It will be a good first round for us.”.

His wish was granted, as Los Angeles defeated Minnesota after overtime. LeBron James and his family will therefore face Memphis in the first round of the playoffs. If the Grizzlies will be slightly favorites thanks to the advantage of the field and their collective strength demonstrated throughout the season, it is indeed the Lakers who won the series in the regular season, with two successes out of the three confrontations.

On January 20, when the Grizzlies lost on the floor of the Lakers, Dillon Brooks had rather well limited LeBron James, held at 8/21 shooting. After this meeting, the Tennessee player had bluntly declared that he knew the secret to defending on the “King”. A match that had made a lot of noise with the incident at the edge of the field between Shannon Sharpe and several Memphis players.

Having become a master in the art of provocation, Dillon Brooks is now one of the most hated players in the league, while Draymond Green or Donovan Mitchell have not hesitated to publicly criticize him, as well as his vice shots. Unsurprisingly, the Canadian also collected the most technical fouls (18) this season, but the counters are reset for the postseason. Game 1 will take place on Sunday at 9 p.m.!
