Did referee Eric Lewis defend himself with a hidden Twitter account? The NBA is investigating…

It’s a story that is somewhat reminiscent of the Bryan Colangelo affair, when Internet users discovered anonymous Twitter accounts vehemently defending the Sixers leader. It was the GM’s wife who was in charge, and that had pushed Jerry’s son to resign in June 2018.

This time it’s an anonymous Twitter account defending tooth and nail referee Eric Lewis.

Is this a hidden account of the official, a veteran of the circuit since he has officiated in the NBA for 19 seasons, and has whistled Finals games, notably in 2019, 2020 or even 2021 ? That’s what many netizens think.which recorded all replies from the account, titled @CuttliffBlair.

It is true that the account’s relentlessness, especially this season, in defending Eric Lewis in the face of criticism, is troubling. Just like the five subscriptions, all linked to the NBA and its referees, as well as the women’s team at George Mason University, coached by Vanessa Blair-Lewis… Eric Lewis’s wife.

Before going on hiatus, however, the account tweeted that the one behind the account was actually Mark Lewis, the official’s older brother: “I’m sorry I put E (Eric) in this situation, but it’s not Watergate. You are right, the account will be deleted. Twitter shouldn’t be so vindictive. »

According to Marc Stein, the NBA has however opened an investigation to find the end of the story. And therefore know whether to take sanctions against the official.
