With the Warriors, Chris Paul has reached an agreement to push back the deadline for his $30 million salary to become fully guaranteed for next season. The deadline was originally set for Friday, June 28, and it was pushed back to this Sunday, June 30. This scenario has just repeated itself for two other players: Devonte' Graham and Landry Shamet.
For the first, ESPN explains that Spurs have decided to move this date – initially set for July 1 – by one week, to July 8. As of now, Devonte' Graham only has $2.85 million guaranteed on his $12.65 million salary. By cutting it, San Antonio would save almost $10 million.
Last season, the former Charlotte player played 23 games, averaging 5 points, and was even suspended for two games by the NBA disciplinary committee, after his conviction for drunk driving and speeding.
As for Landry Shamet, our colleagues at ESPN specify that his deadline has been pushed back to July 13, while the decision was supposed to be made this Saturday by Washington. The shooter (7.1 points average) is supposed to earn $11 million next season. With two more weeks to decide, the Wizards will have time to put together a transfer, even if a return of the former Phoenix player is also being considered.
