Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee suffers from Orlando’s law

After his Mexican escapade, Orlando welcomed Milwaukeeobviously guided by a Giannis Antetokounmpo whose last outing ended with… 54 points. On the other hand, Damian Lillard is still missing due to a capricious calf, while Markelle Fultz (knee) is also absent in the opposite camp.

In this little game of absences, it is in any case the Magic who did the best, since the Florida franchise resisted the 35 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 interceptions and 2 blocks (!) of the “Greek Freak” to take the measure of the Bucks (112-97).

A defeat, the second in a row, which materialized in the second quarter for the 2021 champions, during which they conceded a 36-24, missing too many free throws and losing too many balls.

Then, the teammates of Paolo Banchero (26 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists) and Franz Wagner (24 points) showed their collective mastery and their aggressiveness (30/35 on throws, 15 offensive rebounds) to keep the pressure on the opposing defense and therefore hold on throughout the second half. An authoritative and deserved success, which proves that this young Orlando team is growing and moving forward well in the shadows.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

Giannis Antetokounmpo alone against the Orlando collective. Between the big double-double of Paolo Banchero, the contribution of the “Wagner Bros” or the positive influence of Jalen Suggs, the double Greek MVP proved powerless against Jamahl Mosley’s men. Certainly the author of some brilliant actions (to post on Goga Bitadze, chasedown block…), he especially lacked support to hope to leave with anything other than a setback from Florida, without Damian Lillard and with a limited Khris Middleton. Especially since the Magic are now a serious scratch, both offensively and defensively.

End of series for Orlando. It was 14 consecutive games that the Bucks constantly beat the Magic. Except that, for the first time since the first round of the 2020 playoffs, during the era of Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier, the Florida players brought down Milwaukee. The kind of success that unites a group…
