At the start of the season, Desmond Bane injured his right big toe (at a sesamoid bone exactly), which forced him to miss a month of competition. Then he had to find the right shoes, including a stiff sole, to play again with as little pain and discomfort as possible.
He finally turned to the LeBron XX, despite his history with the Los Angeles player since a game in January 2022 and this famous unspoken rule, applied in Memphis as elsewhere sometimes, which says that one does not wear the opponent’s shoes…
No one in the franchise held it against him, not even LeBron James who had fun with the situation. The Grizzlies can nevertheless blow since the back passed on the pool table on Tuesday in order to solve this problem in the right big toe. He will therefore be able, if he wishes, to change shoes in 2023/2024.
