Derek Fisher leaves to coach in a high school

At 48, Derek Fisher adds a new line to his resume as Crespi Carmelite High (Encino) announced the signature of the former coach Knicks and Sparks.

“We are honored and excited to welcome Coach Fisher…He will bring us his work ethic, leadership and discipline” welcomes the school’s athletic director, Brian Bilek.

Even if this high school in northwest Los Angeles evolves in a very high championship, where we also find the Sierra Canyon School, the former high school of Bronny and Bryce James, we did not necessarily expect to find the experienced Derek Fisher at this level.

After failing at the Knicks with 40 wins for 96 losses between 2014 and 2016, the five-time NBA champion had rebounded in the WNBA, and more specifically in his hometown since he had coached the Sparks from 2019 to 2022. He had even become one. the GM.

A far too big double cap since he had also taken the door after a failed 2021 exercise (12 wins and 20 losses), and a barely better start to the 2022 season (5 wins in 12 matches).
