Denver does not let Aaron Gordon go, extended until 2029

After losing Bruce Brown Then Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for financial reasons, one could wonder how the Nuggets were going to manage the file of the extension of Aaron Gordon

The answer has just arrived since the strong winger has just extended his contract, for $133 million over four years!

Technically, he activates his “player option” at 22.8 million dollars for the 2025/26 season and adds 110.2 million (maximum) over the following three seasons, the final campaign (2028/29) being again a “player option “. The contract also contains a “trade kicker”, which increases the player's salary in the event of a trade.

The former Orlando player is now linked to the Rockies club until 2029, the Nuggets having therefore decided to break the bank to keep the one who has established himself as the perfect complement to Nikola Jokic.

In any case, Denver confirms that it has full confidence in the quartet that led the franchise to the title in 2023, not hesitating to break the bank to lock in Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr. and therefore now Aaron Gordon (29 years old, 2m03). Even if this places the team very, very close to the famous “second apron” for the years to come, and the room for maneuver to surround this hard core is very limited.
