Dennis Schröder transfer to Warriors officially announced

Even though the Warriors and the Nets had agreed since yesterday, it was only today that the transfer of Dennis Schröder towards Golden State could be made official by the Bay franchise.

It's that De’Anthony Meltonwho is going the opposite way (even though he is injured for the whole season…) was signed last summer and was therefore only transferable from December 15. He leaves for Brooklyn with Reece Beckmana back on a “two-way contract”, as well as three draft picks in the second round.

In detail, Golden State receives a Draft choice in the second round (that of Miami in 2025, protected 31-37) and therefore sends three to Brooklyn (those of Atlanta in 2026 and 2028 and its own in 2029), announces the club press release.

The arrival of Reece Beekman also means that the Nets will finally cut Cui Yongxi, injured for the year.

For the Warriors, this transfer is in any case not expensive for a player who still averages 18.4 points and 6.6 assists, with a 45% success rate including 39% from distance, this season. Of course, we can question his integration into Steve Kerr's offensive system but he should bring a real offensive boost, while he is capable of breaking the first opposing curtains. What the Warriors lacked, especially in money time.
