Decisive, Karl-Anthony Towns confirms his rise to power

Anthony Edwards on the bench, out for six fouls, it was Karl-Anthony Towns who attempted the winning shot against the Pelicans. Could he miss it, he had been so skillful throughout the game?

For this decisive moment, he penetrates, shoots with the hide and thus gives the victory to Minnesota, with an almost perfect performance: 29 points at 10/11 shooting, 9 assists, 6 rebounds and no lost balls. Difficult to get cleaner…

A failure, then a 10/10

“We play the whole match to hope to give ourselves an opportunity to find ourselves in this situation”delivers the hero of the evening, after the comeback of Wolves, for The Athletic. “That’s the most fun part of the meet and I had a lot of fun in that situation. »

The Wolves interior only missed its first shot of the game. Then, he displays a perfect 10/10 including this last shot to win. “It’s one of the best matches I’ve seen from him. 10/11, it’s incredible. He made the right choice and let the game come to him.”explains Rudy Gobert for the Star Tribune.

“He has matured since last season and even since the first day of training camp”even adds the Frenchman. “He’s unstoppable when he’s in it. He shoots on one leg, with one hand. He can do whatever is asked of him.” continues Jaden McDaniels.

A “KAT” with two faces

Karl-Anthony Towns started the season very badly, however, with only 16.7 points on average at 38% shooting success and 23% at 3-pts over the first six matches. He forced himself, missed a lot of shots and lost too many balls. Clearly, he never really seemed to be in the right tempo.

But for six matches, he has regained his sensations and above all his efficiency. The All-Star thus displays 26.6 points per match at 59% shooting success and 48% at 3-pts. That’s ten points difference while his playing time is essentially the same. And he also serves as a relay in attack, notably finding Rudy Gobert in the air.

Obviously, for the Wolves, this changes everything because it offers a second quality offensive option behind Anthony Edwards. Karl-Anthony Towns’ 12 points in the last quarter and his decisive shot demonstrate this. The rear and his squad will need a good “KAT” to aim for the summits.

“When it’s hot, you can go far”concludes Jaden McDaniels who now dominates the Western Conference with his teammates, tied with Denver, with nine victories in twelve matches.
